A Posi-Joist™ is an engineered timber system which is created using MiTek design software and their steel web connectors. Posi-Joists can only be manufactured by licensed MiTek manufacturers such as Hampshire Engineered Timber Solutions Ltd.

The Posi-Strut™ is the metal web manufactured by MiTek and used in the manufacture of our Posi-Joist™. It provides clear span flexibility and easy access for plumbing and electrical installations.

Posi-Joists are floor joists that are used when a lightweight but strong solution is required. They allow for a greater span distance than solid joists and allow for more design freedom.
Not only can Posi-Joists be used in floors, but they are also suitable for flat, low and steep pitched roofs.

Our average lead time is 5 – 10 working days from design approval. If you need things quicker let us know and we can help with our 5 day or express 48 hour service.
We deliver primarily to England & Wales but can accommodate further in certain circumstances. Please get in touch if you’re outside these zones.
We specialise in the design and production of Posi-Joists, Posi-Rafters, Cassettes and Glulam Beams/Purlins. We’re also able to supply loose timber and all associated hangers, fixings and brackets. You can shop a selection of our products here.
Of course! We are always happy to see visitors and show you around our factory. We are open between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
It’s always good to contact us to book a visit but we are ok for you to just drop in, but we could be busy and have limited time but will always see you.

100% of our timber is sustainably sources and we work within the PEFC chain of custody certification which allows us to certify out Joists as 70% PEFC. Our suppliers follow sustainable and ethical processes and for every tree felled, two more are planted, and all forests are managed to eliminate deforestation.
In short NO. We have options in design to provide you with trimmable ends which will be clearly marked, but no other modifications are permitted.
Any form of modification to our products may impact their structural integrity; this includes cutting, drilling, notching, etc. Please contact us before making any changes to your product and we will be able to advise.
Generally we recommend having your products delivered for the day of installation, or as near as possible. However, if kept off the floor and sheltered from the elements, they can be kept on-site for around two weeks to a month before install.
We can store completed products in our factory if your scheme is delayed for a nominal storage fee, we can discuss this if required.
It’s the customer’s responsibility to unload their manufactured products—this includes arranging any required mechanical lifting equipment.
All custom Posi joists and rafters are non-returnable and non-refundable unless they are faulty. If an item is defective, damaged, or incorrect, please contact us immediately so we can assess the issue and provide a refund if necessary.
No, you do not need a structural engineer. We will design the Posi-Joists and provide you with the necessary structural calculations for building control.
No, our designs are free of charge. Please send over any drawings or details you may have and we’ll get back to you with an estimate.
